About the video archives

In order to receive the video items from this site your computer needs to have the "Real" player plug-in ... you can get the "Basic" free version from here. Although some video material is still available which will stream to 56kbps modem connections, most recent material on this site is encoded for computers having a broadband connection @ 225kbps, or as detailed in the various links.

This video-over the web facility is being maintained online
in order to demonstrate that "any" home broadband connection
can serve to make ALL of us into "content providers",
rather than us being passive consumers of material made available by "conventional broadcasters".

Most video material on this site, other than those items originating from
google or other online video providers, comes from a server connected
to a home-broadband ISP connection.

In that this usually involves a "dynamically allocated IP number"
it means that every time the connection to the internet is changed
the links which make the video content available from these pages
(in "Real Video format") need to be manually changed.

If you are viewing this site at a time when the connection has only
just changed, the status indicator
may not yet have been changed to off.

After the IP number has changed, it may take a few hours
or sometimes even days to re-set all the links,
so if the video links do not work at the time of your visit,
please visit this site again on another occasion.

telling the truth is a revolutionary act"
